I’m really really really really trying to find themes on the internet that are not political and are not about brat summer and not at the intersection of those two things and it’s the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.

So for this newsletter, we are talking about a topic every woman knows in their bones. That a good hair day….

One billionaire and one internet theory has brought this biblical truth to the forefront this week. Let me explain.

Coco Mocoe, a trendspotter and TikToker, calls this the Hollywood Hair Theory. Or the idea that a great haircut or style can change the trajectory of a person’s life.

Exhibit A: pop stars whose big break has corresponded to the timing of a bold new look (ie Chappell Roan’s big red hair).

For me, the Coco-Hollywood-Hair theory stretched beyond entertainers this week, to none other then Mr. Robot himself. They say a picture is worth a thousand words, soooooo.

We all know Zuck’s PR team have been working OT over the last year to rebrand him from zero to hero, starting with the chain. Now the hair? OUAI has 24 hours to respond.

I really hate to say it—I tried so hard to avoid it at all costs—but it is, in fact, giving brat summer.
