Jimmy Lai (@feedthejim), Engineering Director at Vercel, came on the livestream yesterday to talk about Next.js, why this year the open source framework spiked to 40M downloads a week (up from 9.6M downloads last year, s/o agents!), their most recent announcement, and how to maintain the drip. Don’t miss it!

This week, notorious tabloid outlet TMZ announced they'll be opening a DC outpost. They sent three of their best and brightest to The Hill to cover the latest happenings in the swamp.
Only for them to realize the House doesn’t get back from break till Tuesday. It’s okay, we love kings who learn in public.
In their first video, the Australian reporter opens by saying, 'I don't know if people are familiar with how DC works, but there are buildings where the Senators all hang out in and there are buildings where all the House Representatives hang out in.' It’s giving educational!

They plan to cover the convergence of pop culture and politics, like the odd living arrangements of GOP members of Congress, RFK Jr. chopping off a raccoon's penis, and what congressperson clogged the toilet in the Capitol Building.
Of course, they'll also report on the classics: sex, drugs, and money laundering.
And early indicators suggest you should never underestimate three young men with very little shame and a budget to burn.
Now, some legitimate concerns have been raised.
First, that this only perpetuates an unseriousness that has taken US politics by force and will only push politicians further into looking like celebrities or reality TV stars over public servants.
And second, questions are being raised about journalistic integrity, as TMZ is owned by Fox Corporation, the parent company of right-leaning Fox News. To which many responded, be fr.
Is this net good? Who knows. Am I loving it? Yes.
But I always am rooting for an underdog.
