Wow, I really had my pick of the litter to write about this week. From Caroline Calloway live-tweeting through her refusal to evacuate during Hurricane Milton, to the subtle foreshadowing trend, to Ryan Salame updating his LinkedIn with his prison time, to The Hollywood Reporter absolutely shitting the bed with their A-list, it seems cuffing season is bringing iconic behavior to our timelines. If you aren’t tracking, DYOR for the love of God, because you are suffocating me.

Unfortunately for all of us Elon and his robots won the internet this week so here we go.

Elon had an event for nerds last night where he unveiled a few things he’s been tinkering with at Tesla. First, the Cybercab, their self-driving taxi, which I hope to do my makeup, talk shit on FaceTime, and write the newsletter in very soon.

Second, the Robovan — a hyper-futuristic-looking, fully autonomous vehicle that will fit up to 20 people and is designed to transform transportation in high-density areas.

And lastly, Optimus, their humanoid robot.

After their dancing debut, the robots stayed around the event for the remainder of the evening, serving drinks and answering questions. TBH it’s pretty shocking.

And the internet is being the internet about it, talking about sex with robots, shitting on Elon, and meme-ing the robots to hell (pot, kettle…..)

in the privacy of my home, I’m also choosing to be optimistic about what all three of these developments could mean for a future that is brighter and more efficient — freeing humanity to have more time and space for creative expression and to do the things they are best at.

Anyway, it’s Friday, so in the words of Elon….
