summer of Ozempic allegations

and diss tracks

Bonjour,

Another week of internet news coming at us fast. So many memes and iconic tweets were born this week, from Challengers takeover to Charlie XCX’s surprise set at Lot Radio to Met Gala mania, you all have me concerned for your screen time in the most beautiful way.

This unserious newsletter begs to ask the question no one is willing to ask: What do Kim Kardashian, Barbra Streisand, and Drake have in common? Find out below.

The Net Gala was so hot it hurt my feelings, and it would appear others agree.

Ozempi-gations. The season of tiny skirts and low key jeans is upon us (hallelujah), which means the bodies are body-ing and the online discourse is discoursing. And now there’s an added layer of judgement that can be dolloped on the pie that is impossible beauty standards: the Ozempic Allegation™️. Here are a few primo examples that really kicked off this time of year.

Kim did her favorite thing ever at the Met Gala on Monday: waist-trained herself within an inch of her life. DO NOT get me started on the sweater.

Barbra Streisand doesn’t know how to submit a 'q' in private DMs and accidentally(???) publicly signed an allegation in a sentence with almost as many grammatical errors as this newsletter before it goes through ChatGPT.

Diss track Summer. The craze of Ozempic allegations even made it into one of Kendrick’s diss tracks. The original cover art of "Meet the Grahams" included Drake’s alleged Ozempic prescription. It was later swapped for a black cover, either because it violated Spotify, Apple and/or HIPAA’s guidelines or because he was embarrassed about being fed fake news. You be the judge.

If you’ve missed the kick off of diss track summer, don’t fret! We had Melanie McCain on Too Online to explain the Drake and Kendrick squabble.

I hate to say it, but if someone — anyone — hit me with an Ozempic allegation, it would be the honor of my life.
