Thanksgiving is gonna be a bloodbath

Bonjour,
A healthy reminder for us all:
sometimes a beautiful woman is just a desperate loser

We’ll be in Menlo Park on Tuesday for our livestream. HMU if you want to be on the show and are local to the area.

ily,
Polygon is for payments.
This is what I have to pay my TradFi broker to move funds. This is exactly why we need Payments onchain. On @0xPolygon this would cost me $0.000153
In other words, I could do almost 200,000 transfers for the same $30.

This week, OpenAI launched Sora, an app built around its latest text-to-video model that feels a lot like a Shein version of TikTok. Users can create, remix, and scroll through short AI videos, inserting their own likeness with a feature called ‘cameos.’

Here’s how it works: you upload a video of yourself, then set permissions for who can use your likeness.
Then you’re able to prompt it and drop yourself into AI-generated scenes that include dialogue, sound effects, and background audio.
I’m doing to Instagram Reels with Sora what the CIA did to West Virginia with fentanyl.

Once I set up my profile and was met with a blank canvas of opportunity, I realized that when almost anything is possible, nothing feels that interesting. I prompted it to show me making a salad, and the results were mixed.
There’s an argument to be made that the availability and democratization of creative tools open up a world of possibilities for a new creative class to emerge. But what’s missing from that argument is that constraints are essential to creative flourishing.
constraints are the real life limitless pill. use timers. set deadlines. have a word count. impose a budget. pick a medium. establish a cutoff time. use random prompts. post something every day. limit your tools. creativity thrives on constraints, not options.

Without them, we’re left with a feed that mostly looks like this:
cat
anime
dog + cat
michael jackson
sam altman
sam altman
sam atlman
cat
Scrolling the Sora 2 video stream just reinforces this truth from AI image generators - when given a tool that can make anything, people basically just make videos of cats, celebrities & anime characters (also Sam Altman).
A feed that highlighted creativity might look different.

And with that, we’re seeing a first-mover opportunity to take those cat videos, remove the Sora watermark, and build an audience on TikTok.
Sora "cat stealing a fish":
> 12M views on tiktok
> brand new account
> erased watermarkarbitrage, arbitrage...

FREE SORA WATERMARK REMOVER IS LIVE!!!
Absolutely free tool to use. Print out UGC videos with SORA2 and use topyappers.com to remove the watermark, change metadata, brightness, hue, and a bunch of other stuff.
Make your videos undetectable when uploading to social

Outside of whether these tools will be a net good for creativity online, the greater fear is that the veil between what’s real and fake on our feeds grows thinner every day and some might argue that’s highly strategic.

Sorry to be such a downer, but one thing I do know for sure is that our grandparents on Facebook are absolutely cooked, and Thanksgiving this year is going to be an absolute bloodbath.
Opened Facebook and Reels autoplayed. First reel had 57k likes and 12,000 comments.
Comments were overwhelmingly impressed old people praising a dog.
This is the reel. I’m not joking.
Facebook is dead.

I’m hopeful that we’ll find new constraints for these tools, and that this will eventually allow more people to participate, not just consume.
the sora content is getting better and I think the videos will get much funnier when the invite network extends beyond the tech nerds

Just so long as we stay away from him.

funny how organically the zeitgeist landed on “slop” years after it coined the “feed”
