'wifelike' robots, companion movie, AI sentience, etc.
Bonjour,
I’m here in your inbox today because Deana has Come To Brasil iykyk.
While researching this week’s newsletter, we found that according to Google Trends, men are looking for wifelike subservient dystopian robot girlfriends that look like Megan Fox.
To which I thought.
DeepSeek this, DeepSeek that—how about you Deepseek first the kingdom of God. Let’s turn to Matthew 6:33…

On another note, we’ve got a bunch of stuff cooking this week. Catch Lunch Break live on Twitter, Friday at 12pm or catch the rewatch of Dumb Bitch Hour here. None of these words are in the Bible, but hopefully you’ll join us.
My timeline was absolutely rekt by the launch of the DeepSeek app (the Chinese ChatGPT dupe) that hit mass adoption this week. It’s certainly an acceleration moment for the tech industry that is bringing up some stuff for me…..

I mean, when a movie about an AI sex robot with beloved nepobaby of Meg Ryan and Dennis Quaid, Jack Quaid, is getting memed to hell, you know the conversation on sex robots is going mainstream.

Jack Quaid is not the only evidence, Google trends has some tea.
And while the business of sex toys is nothing new—it generated $32 billion last year—as we move into a world with increasingly advanced robotics technology, coupled with AI models that more closely resemble human conversation, it starts to feel a lot less Magic Wand and a lot more Melody.
Look, sure, someone, somewhere will find a silver lining to this dystopian reality. But for me and my household.
deepseek this, deep seek that.
why dont you deep seek some bitches
